Iran President to Arrive in Oman
Persian Gulf country since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
A statement issued by the Omani royal court said the Iranian president`s visit takes place "within the framework of close cooperation between Oman and Iran".
The statement said the visit is attentive to the desire of the two countries` leaderships to consult and exchange views on guaranteeing the interests of their peoples and those of the region.
The visit will strengthen the historic ties of friendship between Oman and Iran and will open new horizons for bilateral cooperation in various areas in line with the interests of the two nations.
During the visit, the two sides will discuss the latest developments in the region and the world.
Oman Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed will receive President Ahmadinejad and the accompanying delegation upon arrival in the country.
