5 UN peacekeepers killed in Lebanon

Security sources were quoted by Reuters as saying Spanish UN peacekeepers on patrol in south Lebanon on Sunday hit a landmine that killed four of them and wounded six.
They said one UN armored troop carrier was completely burned and another vehicle was damaged in the explosion, near the southeastern town of Khiyam.
A UN spokesman said he was checking the report.
Witnesses reported that they heard an explosion and seeing fire. It was not immediately clear if the explosion was from old ordinance left over from last summer`s war between the Zionist Regime and Lebanon or if the troops were deliberately targeted.
