Military deaths in Iraq near 4000
As of Friday, July 20, 2007 at least 3,630 members of the US military have died in Iraq since the beginning of war in March 2003, reports say.
The figure includes seven military civilians. At least 2,977 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military`s numbers.
Meanwhile the total military death toll reported by allied countries in Iraq`s war other than the United States barely reaches 287.
As the massacre goes on, the US military commanders said on Friday the troop build-up in Iraq must be maintained until at least next summer and they may need as long as two more years to ensure parts of the country are stable.
