Hamas spokesman hails Quds Day
Zuhri said all Muslims must be aware of what is going on in Palestine and realize what is happening to Quds and Al-Aqsa mosque due to the Zionist occupation. He also emphasized the importance of Quds as a symbol of Islam.
He also added; "Quds Day reminds the younger generations of Muslim countries that they have a responsibility towards this Holy Land and must rally for its independence."
He appealed to the western world and Muslims everywhere to take action and strive for the freedom of Quds as a city which belongs to all Muslims.
Asked about the significance of Quds Day, Abu Zuhri said, "As the Israeli regime is taking full advantage of the present division among Palestinian officials, and the fact that the Arab world is ignoring the situation in Quds, a review of the issue is vital."
"The Palestinians will gain nothing from this predicament; the party to gain from this can only be the occupation regime. There are no victors in the conflict and we have proposed talks again and again to prevent these clashes, but have received no positive response from Abu Mazen."
