Chavez: Iran attack to spark $200 oil
US is crazy enough to attack Iran or commit aggression against Venezuela… oil would not be $100, but $200," the Venezuelan President said in the opening statement of the third OPEC summit in Riyadh on Saturday.
"The underlying reason for any aggression is oil," He expounded.
President Chavez also urged the 12 state members of the OPEC to rise against the West`s pressure, demanding an increase in the organization`s oil output.
While Saudi Arabia is in favor of increasing OPEC oil output, Iran and Venezuela have voiced strong opposition to increasing the production.
The summit of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) opened Saturday in Saudi Arabia with the attendance of heads of states and delegates from 12 of the world`s biggest oil-producing nations.
